ASA Miami's women's track team had a quartet of athletes put on strong performances over the weekend, headlined by reigning NJCAA national hammer throw champion, ASA Miami sophomore Antonella Creazzola -- who continued to prove herself as one of the top throwers in the country at the University of Miami Invitational Track & Field Meet in Coral Gables. Creazzola took fourth place in the hammer throw with a heave measuring at 55.28 meters. The top four finish qualifies Creazzola for the NJCAA National Championship meet in Hobbs, New Mexico this coming May. Silver Storm sophomore Nyakuome Thichiot finished ninth in the triple jump by clearing 37-feet, 9.25-inches; sophomore Maria Vargas Parra finished 10th in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 10.25-inches; and sophomore Takira Brown finished 15th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.48 seconds.
Also, ASA Miami's Shericka Treco shaved nearly four full tenths of a second off of her personal best time in the 100-meter, clocking a 12.59 time Saturday.
