FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HIALEAH, FL – ASA Miami's record-breaking year continued this week when the latest NJCAA football rankings showed that the Silver Storm had climbed up the poll once again – reaching No. 16, the program's highest ranking ever.
The Silver Storm (4-1) earned its easiest victory of the season this past weekend, receiving a forfeit win from Louisburg College after the North Carolina school was unable to compete in the game due to a lack of available players.
Though the game wasn't played on the field, it not only counts as ASA's fourth win of the season; it also counts as the Silver Storm's second win over an NJCAA opponent this season – another program record.
ASA Miami made its first appearance in the NJCAA poll this season after its 24-14 win over Georgia Military College on September 28th. Defeating the Bulldogs – which the Silver Storm hadn't done prior to the 2019 season – proved enough for ASA to earn a spot in the national rankings for just the second time in program history.
The Silver Storm earned its first appearance in the national rankings during the 2015 season as the No. 20 team.
ASA Miami will put its new ranking to the test this Saturday (Oct. 12) when it hosts No. 13 Snow College at Ted Hendricks Stadium at 1 p.m. Snow College owns the all-time series against the Silver Storm (2-0) but ASA Miami boasts one of the nation's stingiest defenses (224.5 total yards allowed per game) and a multi-faceted offense.
