HIALEAH, FL. - Emily Da Silva Chang has had an illustrious career at the junior college level. Chang transferred to ASA last year after playing her freshman season at Mesa Community College in Arizona. In 2017, she was named the ITA Sophomore Player of the Year. After finishing as the #2 singles national runner-up and #1 doubles national runner-up, she was named to the NJCAA Second Team Singles & Doubles All-American Teams, respectively.
Chang dominated in 2017, accumulating a 25-6 overall record. That dominance has earned her a full scholarship from Northern Arizona University to continue her tennis career. NAU is located in Flagstaff, Arizona and the women's tennis team is led by first year head coach Maciej Bogusz.
ASA Miami tennis coach Brian Slack is excited for Chang, but will miss her contributions for the Silver Storm. "Emily has been a joy to coach and be around for the last year or so. We are very proud and grateful for what she meant as a member of our program and institution."
