Six Flights Advance To Finals; ASA Looks To Bring Trophy Back To Miami

TUCSON, AZ. - It's gut check time. Yuliana Munroy, Emily Da Silva Chang, Dugleisy Linarez, Lisa Khamassi, Ghita Nassik and Sarah Wardenburg. Those are the six girls ASA Miami will send out in the Final Round of the 2017 NJCAA National Tournament with hopes of repeating as National Champions. In singles play, the Silver Storm have four bullets left, while having flight one and flight three of doubles still alive.

Hands down, the match of the day was saved for last. The flight one doubles match against Tyler Junior College went back and forth, with ASA coming out on top in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 7-5). Munroy and Chang took down Jasmine Asghar and Yuna Ito of Tyler, who are the top-ranked duo in the country according to ITA.

With that victory, both ASA and Tyler have six flights remaining heading into tomorrow with Tyler holding a one point lead. Head-to-head, the Silver Storm and Tyler are all even at 2-2.

Play is set to begin tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM local time. For more information on the 2017 NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship CLICK HERE.
