HIALEAH, FL – Despite leading by a point at halftime and only trailing by one point with 3:46 left to play in the fourth quarter the Lady Silver Storm ultimately fell 73-64 to visiting Miami Dade College Saturday afternoon at The Dent.

The Silver Storm players did what they could Saturday.

Sophomore G'Torria Swinton recorded her seventh double-double (an ASA Miami record that she will increase each time she reaches the feat) with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman guard Lashayla Johnson turned in arguably her best offensive game of the season against the Sharks, recording a team-high 15 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists.

Mackenzie Sadaka continued her strong all-around play; recording 12 points, six boards, four assists, a steal, and a block. Megan Delgado knocked down three three-pointers to add her nine points to the mix, but the team was missing the usual contributions of leading scorer Ta'Kyla Austin – who finished with just five points on 2-of-17 shooting.

After trailing 19-12 at the end of the first quarter, ASA Miami was able to break Miami Dade's full-court press and outscored the Lady Sharks 20-12 in the second quarter and was able to take a narrow lead into the locker room.

ASA Miami's second-half deficit got as large as 10 before Sadaka – along with a timely three-pointer by Amiyah Harley – brought the Silver Storm back and cut the deficit to just 61-60 with just under four minutes to play. Miami Dade then went on an 11-0 run over the next three minutes.

Up Next: After a couple of days to regroup, ASA Miami will travel to Indian River State College to play on Wednesday, January 16 at 5:30 p.m.
