FORT MYERS, FL – Committing a season-high 41 turnovers did the ASA Miami women zero favors Thursday night when the Lady Silver Storm fell 75-40 to Chipola College in the JuCo Shootout at Florida Southwestern State College's Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Florida.

Playing their first game in nearly two weeks, the Silver Storm looked like a rusty group – watching a 1-point (11-10) deficit midway through the first quarter balloon up to 19-10 by the end of the en route to being outscored in every quarter Friday.

Worse yet, ASA Miami (2-5) had more turnovers than it did points and only had five total assists. The only positive from Friday's performance was the 42-34 advantage the Silver Storm had over the state ranked, undefeated Lady Indians.

ASA Miami, which will be back in action Friday night (8 p.m.) in the second night of the JuCo Shootout against Santa Fe College, was led by freshman guard Lashayla Johnson's 12 points. Johnson was the only Silver Storm player to finish in double figures, but she was also credited with a game-high 12 turnovers Friday.

G'Torria Swinton added six points and 12 boards for ASA while Toriana McDuffie finished with eight points, five blocks, and five boards. Chipola made a concerted effort to slow down Amiyah Harley, the Lady Silver Storm's leading scorer this season, holding the freshman guard to just eight points on 3-of-7 shooting (1-for-5 from three-point range).

Chipola got a game-high 25 points from Dekeriya Patterson, 15 points from Courtajia Sanders, and a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double from Blessing Ejiofor.

Up Next: The Lady Silver Storm will take on Santa Fe College on Nov. 30 before returning home to play their first home game of the season on Monday, December 3rd at The Dent (Bucky Dent Gym).
