Having fallen into a 21-point halftime hole, ASA Miami stormed out of the gates in the second half to cut its deficit to 10 points but could never completely overtake host Eastern Florida State and fell 67-57 Tuesday night.
The Silver Storm (1-4), who got freshman point guard Lashayla Johnson back in the lineup after she missed the previous two games with a shoulder injury but was still considerably undermanned with just eight players available, got an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double from sophomore Ta'Kyla Austin.
Eastern Florida State built its early lead largely in part to ASA Miami's turnovers, but Lady Titans forward Sierra Votaw proved to be too strong of a force in the post, scoring her game-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
Up Next: The Lady Silver Storm will play one more game before the Thanksgiving holiday – a trip to Trinity College on Nov. 16.
