WHAT HAPPENED
ASA Miami went toe-to-toe with the 2018 Southern Conference Champion, Indian River State College on Saturday afternoon at Florida Memorial University during ASA's last home game of the season. The Silver Storm would come up short, 114-92 on sophomore day for the basketball program at ASA Miami. 

Both teams traded baskets for the majority of the game, until the Pioneers went up double-digits with about four minutes remaining in the game. The Silver Storm led 48-47 at the half.

ASA Miami head coach Jean Dubuisson offered his four sophomore's before the game. "I am so proud of these guys. My four sophomores have done a tremendous job of leading this team."

Those sophomores showed up on Saturday. Darius Sawyer (Inverness, FL / Lecanto HS) recorded a career-high 33 points and 11 rebounds. Sawyer recorded his third double-double of the season and leads the team in rebounding with 168 total rebounds. Anthony Gomes (Kissimmee, FL / Poinciana HS) finished with 31 points, seven rebounds and six assists. That 30-point game gave Gomes his 13th 20-point game this season in 25 games played. The Kissimmee native is currently ranked fifth in the state of Florida in scoring, averaging 18.7 points-per-game.
