Men’s Hoops Travels to Niceville to play #1/#2 Northwest Florida & Pensacola

Niceville, FL. – ASA Miami (3-1) will play two games this weekend in Niceville, Florida on the campus of Northwest Florida State College. The first of the two games is set to tip-off on Friday night at 8:30 PM Central time against Northwest Florida (9-1). Northwest Florida is ranked #1 in the NJCAA poll (10/24/16) and #2 in the Region VIII poll (11/29/16). The Raiders started the season atop the men's NJCAA preseason rankings back in late October. Their one loss this year came on November 19th to San Jacinto College 88-95. Northwest Florida currently has five players averaging double figures. However, 6'7" Sophomore Forward Jeromy Rodriguez is nearly averaging a double-double on the season with 16.6 PPG and 9.3 RPG.

The Silver Storm will then face-off against Pensacola State College (5-4) on Saturday at 6:30 PM Central time. The Pirates have won three of the last four, including a 71-70 victory over Miami Dade College. The Pirates are led by Cameron Allen, who is averaging a team high 17.3 PPG.
 
Coach Dubuisson credits his team's fast start this season for one simple reason. "Our commitment to improve on the defensive end of the floor is flat out the biggest difference going back to last season". ASA is allowing opponents to score 65.3 points per game this season compared to 80.0, which is what they allowed last season.
