HIALEAH, FL. - ASA Miami Head Football Coach Chris Boden has hired Eddie Brown as his new offensive coordinator and wide-receivers coach. Coach Brown will also serve as the program's recruiting coordinator.
The South Florida native prepped at Miami Central High School, enrolled and played football for Fort Scott Community College in Kansas and then went on to earn his Bachelors degree from Louisiana Tech University. After playing football at Louisiana Tech, Brown played and dominated in 10 years of Arena Football for the Indiana/Albany Firebirds. He was named the AFL's Most Valuable Player in 1994 and 1999.
Brown has 20 years of coaching experience at the high school level and three years at the college level. Prior to joining ASA Miami, he was the head coach at Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida from 2015-2016. He stepped down from coaching in June of 2016 to pursue other professional opportunities. Brown led the Cobras to a 9-2 record in 2015, while capturing the 15-6A District Championship. He was named the 2015 6A Coach of the Year by the Sun-Sentinel. From 2013-2014, he was the head coach at Miami Northwestern High School finishing as the District 16-6A Runner-up. From 2013-1995 Brown coached at the prep level, most notably at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana from 2006-2008. From 2008-2010, Brown returned to his alma mater and coach at Fort Scott CC. He was the Recruiting Coordinator/Running Backs Coach. He also coordinated the special teams.
Brown's son is Pittsburgh Steelers all-pro wide-receiver, Antonio Brown.
