HIALEAH, FL. - In a game that felt more like a 12 round heavyweight title fight, ASA Miami fell short of a miraculous comeback on Saturday afternoon. The No. 13 ranked Georgia Military Bulldogs led by as many as 21 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter until Xavier Love broke off a 55 yard run with 13:29 left in the game. After an Austin Laszewski extra point, ASA cut GMC's lead to 37-23. The Silver Storm defense would stand tall and get the ball back to the ASA offense. Starting quarterback Matt Winzeler would orchestrate a beautiful drive for ASA that culminated with him punching it in from eight yards out. The Winzeler touchdown would make it a one-possession game with 7:29 remaining in the game. While GMC was trying to milk the clock and prevent giving ASA another possession, the Silver Storm defense thought they had the break they were hoping for. Romario Johnson was able to force a fumble on the Bulldogs quarterback, however, GMC would recover the loose ball and end the game.
- ASA finished with 413 yards of total offense, which is a season high.
- With his 29 yard field goal, Austin Laszewski now 9-11 for the season.
- With two kick returns for 71 yards, Roy Livingstone is currently fourth in the country in yards averaged per kick return (31.3)
- With 98 yards rushing against GMC, Lloyd Howard jumps to second overall in ASA Miami history with 470 career rushing yards.
