HIALEAH, FL. - Peter Baldrich has been named the NJCAA Region VIII Player of The Week. Baldrich helped the Silver Storm go 6-1 last week, with their only loss coming against Miami Dade College. The Hialeah, Florida native hit safely in all seven games for ASA Miami and batted .640 (16-for-25) with nine runs scored, two doubles, two triples, one home run, 12 RBI and five stolen bases during the voting period. In a three-game sweep vs. Lake-Sumter State over the weekend, he was 7-for-11 with a homer and seven RBI.
As a freshman, Baldrich finished tied for the team lead in hits with 64 while boasting a .398 batting average. Those numbers would earn Baldrich several honors at the conclusion of the season. He was named to the 2017 NJCAA DII All-Region VIII team and received an invite to the 2017 FCSAA Baseball All-Star game. He is currently ranked second in the state of Florida with a .493 batting average.
Baldrich is following up a solid freshman season with a remarkable sophomore season. He is currently ranked second in the state of Florida with a .493 batting average and has only struck-out six times in 69 at-bats.
